Today, 24 September 2026, registration officially opens for the 8th TRAIL CELJE, which will take place on 15 May 2027 in the heart of the historic city of Celje, Slovenia.

After seven successful editions, TRAIL CELJE returns with a fantastic selection of courses designed for runners of different ages, abilities and ambitions. Whether you are looking for your first trail experience, a fast challenge or a serious long-distance adventure, Celje has a route for you.

🏰 RUN THROUGH HISTORY

TRAIL CELJE is a unique combination of sport, nature and history.

The event starts and finishes in the heart of old historic Celje, Slovenia’s third-largest city and a place with a rich medieval heritage. From the city centre, the routes lead runners into the surrounding hills and forests, creating an unforgettable contrast between historic urban scenery and beautiful natural landscapes.

For one day, the ancient city and its surrounding trails become the stage for a true trail-running experience.

For 2027, runners can choose between six different distances:

With six courses available, TRAIL CELJE offers an opportunity for everyone to find their own challenge.

🌲 FROM THE CITY TO THE TRAILS

One of the special features of TRAIL CELJE is its location.

You don’t have to travel deep into the mountains to experience trail running. The adventure begins right in the historic centre of Celje before taking participants into the green surroundings of the city.

Expect a combination of forest paths, hills, climbs, descents, panoramic views and historic scenery – all within the unique setting of Celje.
