The 7th TRAIL CELJE took place this Saturday, May 16, along the Savinja River. Despite the poor weather forecast, the runners enjoyed good conditions, which was reflected in the excellent results of our participants. Smiling, exhausted, tired, hungry, thirsty, drained, yet still happy that they gave it their all and became part of the story—the story of a trail in a historic city, a story that connects people, regions, and countries and builds community. This is exactly what defined the 7th TRAIL CELJE this year as well.
The start of the longest courses, the 35 km and 50 km, was already at 8:00 a.m. The fastest and most enduring competitors returned to the finish line just in time for lunch. At 11:00 a.m., the 21 km and 15 km courses started, followed by the shortest course on 9 km and 4 km at 12:00 p.m. After the race, participants were able to refuel with čevapčiči and drinks at the finish line.
Once the competitors had regained their energy at the finish line and rested their legs a bit after the grueling kilometers, the final—but no less important—part of the event followed: the ceremonial announcement of the results and the presentation of medals, plaques, and prizes from our partners to the top male and female trail runners.
We congratulate everyone on their exceptional performances and thank you for a wonderful Saturday spent in the true spirit of sportsmanship and good company.
